717: Erik Tait - The Voice Behind the Mic

As the host of the Penguin Podcast, Erik Tait is the “Voice of Penguin Magic.” Each week he shares the mic with other magicians as he talks about magic and the occasional ad thrown in here and there. More than a “voice” Erik is the “real deal” as he has his own creations and proven “chops” as he teaches and performs close-up magic. Over the past few years he has set his sites on competing in the World Championships of Magic (FISM). That meant several, and I mean several, practice sessions and performances that all led up to his appearance as a competitor in Quebec this past summer. It was worth it and paid off as Erik took home third place in Card Magic against a sea of competitors from around the world.

716: Reza - On The Edge

Reza is changing the landscape of entertainment in Branson, Missouri. Long a tourist destination for tour bus groups, families and the geriatric set, Branson’s demographic is changing. And Reza’s cutting edge show is meeting and exceeding those demands with regularly sold-out shows. Reza is a name that is making impact far outside of Branson. His recent tour and television appearances have astounded over 30 million viewers from around the world on networks such as MTV, A&E, The CW, PBS, Reelz, CX, Fuji, and Telemundo as well as live venues including the Alamodome (San Antonio), Villanova Pavilion (Philadelphia), and Mundo Imperial Forum (Acapulco), to name a few.

Reza shares stories from his career from his beginnings in South Dakota where there were no magic shops and very few other magicians to talk to and learn from in the area. He discusses why he landed in Branson instead of Las Vegas and also about working with Criss Angel.

715: Paul Stone - No Stone Unturned

Paul Stone has been a mainstay in the world of magic without gaining the true notoriety he deserves because of his work behind the scenes. Paul is the driving force behind his company, SHOWSTEALERS LLC. Paul is an experienced Producer of hundreds of Corporate Events and Shows, amongst them in the UK include shows at the Theatre Royal, Drury Lane, Her Majesty’s Theatre and 18 shows at the world famous London Palladium Theatre, including the widely acclaimed ‘Tribute to Siegfried & Roy at the London Palladium’ in 2008. Paul has produced Shows in Las Vegas at Caesars Palace, Mirage, Harrahs, Orleans and the Suncoast Hotel & Casino.

The working pros know him and go to him when they need help producing a gala event. Not only a producer, Paul is also a trade show performer and creator of magic tricks such as “Overboard” which is a quality prop with endless possibilities and is in my personal trade show.

From a young man in Liverpool to a grown man in Las Vegas, Paul has met and worked with all of the top magic names from one side of the pond to the other.
