452: Playing Around with John Archer

John Archer visited our shores in between dates on a comedy tour of the U.K. with Tim Vine. John performed and lectured at the Texas Association of Magicians and also stopped by my home the night before to enjoy a martini or two. While here, he regaled us with some impromptu playing of his ukulele. The next day before the T,A,O,M, conventinn began, we sat down for a wonderfully enlightening conversation about many things including him being the first to “fool” Penn & Teller on their show when it was broadcast in the U.K.

451: Chaney and West - Tales From Sin City

While attending a birthday party celebration for Fielding West in Las Vegas, Nevada, we spoke with several attendees, but recorded a chat with Fielding and Earl Chaney. Both have been featured in stand-alone podcasts, each talking about their lives plus stories of “old Las Vegas”. But we have not had these two Las Vegas legends together on the same microphone…until now. Each has their own story, but both have friends in common which leads one to tell another story when the other leaves off. This was a fun podcast where I didn’t have to ask questions but just listen to the history of Las Vegas as it unfolded before my ears. Enjoy!

450: Gene Anderson - A Real Cut-Up

Gene Anderson is a name that is synonymous with the Torn & Restored Newspaper. But his career is so much more than that and he has influenced many of the "legends" in our industry like Doug Henning, just to name one. But Gene's career as a "part time pro" has inspired others to perform and create mage while maintaining "another" life in the business world with what they call a "real job".

Gene Anderson discusses the importance of humor to maintain a healthy lifestyle. While reciting some of history's favorite quotes along with his original jokes and quips, Gene will inspire you to smile more. Gene Anderson is a PhD chemist, a professional magician, and a motivational speaker.
