608- Jeff Bibik - Bar Magician Extraordinaire

Jeff Bibik is a Chicago comedian and a magician. Originally from the Detroit, Michigan, area, he regularly performed magic in local restaurants and comedy clubs until 1985 when he moved to Chicago where he continued as a comedy magician in close-up and stage for the public and corporate audiences and he also performs a hypnosis act. Over the years he developed a large repertoire of jokes and gags that serves him well today as the house magician at the Chicago Magic Lounge.

Jeff Bibik pulls no punches this week in sharing the secrets behind getting work in restaurants performing magic, plus he tells lots of stories about working in bars and restaurants with a liberal sprinkling of funny gags, jokes and puns. This was recorded using StreamYard with Jeff joining us from the bar in his basement in his Chicago home. A video of our chat was also recorded and posted to YouTube. Danny Orleans is well known, well versed and well respected as both a children’s show entertainer and as a trade show worker. And adding to that, he and his wife, Jan Rose, also present an exceptional two-person mind reading act. Usually one would expect a successful professional to specialize in one field or another, but not both. Therefore, he is one of the few whom I refer to as an Omni-Magician who can do it all…and do it well.

449: Bill Malone and Charlie Frye & Co. - Seriously Funny!

While attending the 2018 MAGIC Live! convention, we were able to get together with some of the many talented performers who were in attendance. Bill Malone and Charlie and Sherry Frye have been on the list to record for a long time. Fortunately the stars aligned (quite literally) as Sherry was able to pull her husband Charlie and her "other husband" Bill together to all sit in the same room for a chat. With no agenda, this conversation got wacky and out of control fast. These are naturally funny people and we are glad that we could capture lightning in this week's bottle.

But they we settle down after a while and talk about the secrets to controlling your pre-show stress and how to deliver a "solid" show and having energy in your show to elicit standing ovations.
