603 - Doc Eason - The Doctor is In

Recognized as one of the top “bar magicians” in the country (if not the world), Doc Eason joins us this week from his home in Colorado. Doc was one of the house magicians at the former John Denver’s Tower Magic Bar and Restaurant in Snowmass, Colorado. He received “Best Bar Magician” by the Academy of Magical Arts and lectured around the world. After the passing of John Denver in 1997, the Tower soon thereafter closed and Doc took a little different direction as an after dinner motivational speaker.

In this episode, Doc Eason talks about his career path that took him to Colorado and becoming the bar magician in residence in Snowmass. He has several stories about some of the shenanigans he has seen in the bar over the years, many of which will be going into a biography he is currently writing. He also talks about many of the people in his life along the way, like Eric Mead and Bob Sheets, who were pivotal in his life and career. He also shares some philosophy about life and a few emotional stories that you are sure to enjoy.

Although Whit Haydn is from the twentieth century, his on-stage persona is from the nineteenth century and both are living in the twenty-first century. This week Whit talks about the development of his richly textured back story that became "Pop" Haydn. This is a fascinating journey into the mind of one of the most creative magicians alive today. Whit is a seven time winner of the Academy of Magical Arts "Entertainer of the Year" awards including for all three rooms: Close-up, Parlor and Stage.

#201 - Murray Sawchuck - Celebrity Magician

Murray Sawchuck recently completed two and a half years at the Tropicana's Laugh Factory in Las Vegas. On December 20, 2014, he will begin a new afternoon show at Planet Hollywood's "Sincity Theater" along his wife, Chloe, and his partner, Lefty. Murray will add illusions to his comedy magic show plus bring in different aspects of his other appearances on television such as "Pawn Stars" and other shows.

During our conversation, Murray talked about his upcoming appearance on Hallmark's Home & Family morning talk show.
